Genius Idea To Grow Tomatoes

Genius Idea To Grow Tomatoes 1 - Flowers & Plants

James Bryan had a bright idea that resulted in something brilliant. Brian says:

I started may 28th planting 4 tomatoes around a garbage can with holes drilled in the bottom rim and a second row up about 10 inches… buried the can to where the top holes just barely were above the ground… put in two shovels full of compost… then I fill the can up with water every 2 days and try not to water the leaves… these four plants are now 5 ft 4 inches in less that a month and a half and loaded with green tomatoes and about a hundred sets of tomato blossoms…

  1. Love your idea–And not just for Tomatoes, I can utilize this idea to plant my entire garden this year. Particularly my peppers, they always seem to be under attack by something. Your idea is great. It takes up little space and protects the plants. I think it’ll be terrific for peas and beans as well. Thank you so much for sharing.

  2. absolutely loved your tomato idea ! I live in east texas and it gets soooooo hot,and I am 64 years old and your idea sounds like It physically doesn’t take much effort after you have it set up. I have lots of available organic manure from my horses and llamas so I shall try your idea next spring !
